Flex-spending insurance: is it good for preggo moms?

We just switched insurance types from typical insurance, to insurance that has a “Health Savings Account” with it, and increased prices for doctor visits, etc. My employer put $600 in the savings account, and I must put $600 more in before I’m fully covered. I’ll be covered before I have the baby, but it seems like I’ll thn only have $1200 to spend on medical bills this year. Granted, it rolls over to the next year, but once it’s gone, it’s gone. Anyone else have any experience with this? I wanted to ask the insurance guy who came to my job to explain everything, but no one yet knows I’m preggo, and I didn’t want to spill the beans until I’m out of the 1st tri. BTW, this plan is through Coventry. Thanks ahead of time for any info!!
Yes, they were quite clear on that. Not to mention that if we REALLY need money, we can withdraw from the account (which collects interest as well), though we would have to pay a %10 penalty if audited. It SOUNDS good.. but I’m afraid to run out of money!!

How much would an entire pregnancy cost from a medical standpoint only? (in the U.S.)?

I know there are a lot of similar questions out there, and I’ve read through them and still haven’t found a straight-up answer. I realize every situation is completely different. However, to help me select health insurance, or consider deductibles for a health savings account, I’d really appreciate any ballpark estimates of how much an entire pregnancy and delivery would cost us from a medical standpoint only, broken down into two categories:

-The typical cost of medical visits, ultrasounds, etc. leading up to delivery

-The cost of an actual vaginal delivery w/o complications (traditional hospital setting in U.S., including all costs)

The reason I’d like these broken up is that my husband is commissioning in the Air Force in 10 months and since we haven’t become pregnant yet, there’s a good chance we may have the actual delivery covered, but I want to know what kind of a deductible to choose for my HSA. (We live in Utah)

I REALLY appreciate your help! I can’t thank you enough.
I recently quit my job to do some freelance work and decided not to opt for Cobra because it is extremely expensive and I really don’t even know if I’d even use the coverage. However, before I quit my job we had been trying to have a baby and I really don’t want to put that on hold for almost a year especially since we’ve been so unsuccessful so far. I’ve recently looked into HSA (health savings accounts) which look like a good option because we’d pay much less than Cobra or even traditional insurance plans, but we wouldn’t lose all the money if we couldn’t get pregnant anyway. I’m trying to get a ballpark of how much the pre-delivery part of a pregnancy costs so I can choose an appropriate deductible. Again, I REALLY appreciate any advice.
