I have a Kaiser HSA medical plan with my employer. We our small company began the medical insurance for all the employees, we all recieved a notice stating that $98.00 a month would be taken out and a HSA (Health Savings Account) would be started. That was July 2007 and I have yet to get my boss to do this!!! IT IS DRIVING ME CRAZY!! Is there anything I can do legally to get my boss to complete this task? I do not have a health benefit person or an HR person in our company to go to about this. This not the first item my boss slacks on, and I know it wont be the last. I am now in collections with my insurance carrier becasue I cannot afford to pay $700.00 every time I go to the doctor. I already pay the full co-pay and full prescription price. The remaining balance is what I owe to Kaiser since no one takes out the monthly premium out of my check. HELP!!

Am I am paying toward some enormous deductible, likely meant to cover his whole family, or am I paying into a savings account that he and his new family will benefit from? or both?!!

I’ve read a bit about HSA’s but I’m afraid I don’t fully understand the concept.

Any info or recommendations are welcome.

For 2009, I plan on making $140K. I’d like to contribute to a Roth IRA, but that requires a modified AGI < 105K (full contribution), or < 120K (limited contribution). I will fully invest in a 401k plan, which brings the modified AGI to 124K. I don't believe I would qualify for pre tax traditional IRA (I'm single). I think the 2009 health savings account contribution limit is 3K, and I'd prefer not contributing to a health saving account. Are there any other ways to reduce my modified AGI? I finally did get my HSA cards ( my spouse is an engineer for Homeland Security in NYC). So..who is right? The officer or the DMV? How could the officer make this mistake, if that is truly what happened? He ran me twice..If a cop is out there..can you answer this 4 me? Ty
To Sunshine..yes I am an American. I was born here..and both sides of my family have lived in the same area for at least 5 generations. I have neve rleft the country..not even the East Coast..lol..Anyway..to all who replied, Thank You..I’m going to look into this further..maybe it isn’t in DMV’s sytem..but the officer saw it in his..which was honetly my question. Can a cop see soemthing like that..that DMV can’t? I’m so nerve racked..that I’m typing as fast as my brain is thinking..The officer was very pleasant. That’s why in a way..I trust him more so than the lady on the phone at MV..lol..Anyway..I’ll contactthe credit agency’s, etc. Hopefully - it was just a simple mistake.
